Day 10

Monday 9/1/08
Cedar Creek Campground - Holland Lake

Time Traveled: 3 hrs 10 mins
Distance: 28.16 miles

Food Eaten: Super Oatmeal to the 8th Power, coffee w/sugar, Probar, veggie burger w/swiss & shrooms "deluxed", salad, macadamias, pistachios, black beans, vegetarian baked beans, couscous

This morning brought a man with his dog in a van to take over our spot. He is really nice and lends us his lighter. We share a pipe with him and talk for a bit. Both Joe and myself fall in love with his sweet pit bull named Indy. The man ends up giving us his lighter and tells us he'll throw away our trash for us.

We leave and its another cold and wet day. Again, we stick to the roads and it gets us there faster, but the cars and semis going past us at 80 mph is a bit nerve wracking.

Three hours, 4 sore legs, and 2 sore butts later, we arrive at Holland Lake Lodge. The prices are ridiculous ($235 per night) and we opt to stay at the nearby campground instead.

It turned out to be a great choice on our part. We had a spot right next to the beautiful lake and te camp host was super nice and ridiculously happy. She brings us over a huge amount of firewood, charges our phone for us and makes us a hot pot of coffee. We build a huge fire in the drizzling rain and go to sleep.
